Pat Harris has dedicated his life to making Saint Paul a great city to live, work and raise a family.
As a City Councilmember for twelve years, Pat focused on making the city work for all of its residents. He was a champion for the libraries, for the parks, and for public safety. He was the council’s foremost expert on public finance and was a strong voice for efficient city services while keeping the cost of city government and property taxes down. He was a leader on building city partnerships with private agencies, with the school and with employers to care for those who most needed help.
Pat is a life-long Saint Paulite who began his community service before he graduated from Cretin High School. He is the founder of Serving Our Troops, which has provided “dinner with the family” for Minnesota soldiers and families around the world, serving over 80,000 steaks since 2004. He has led a host of efforts to benefit our community by serving as a Board Member for numerous nonprofits including Catholic Charities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Libraries, the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the Minnesota Jewish Theater, Como Friends, Visit Saint Paul, and many more.
Pat has worked as a financial executive for more 15 years specializing in government finance. He earned a BA from Marquette University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota.
Pat is married to Laura Harris. They are the proud parents of four children, Daniel, Eleanor, Joe and Andrew.
